The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was adopted as law in 1990 to ensure equal access to all individuals without regard to needs related to disability. This comprehensive law focuses on a number of areas, including accessibility to and within public buildings and services.

As Civil Engineers, our job is to ensure that we comply with both Federal and State laws regarding Americans with Disabilities.  These improvements include Ramps, Handrails, Parking spaces, crosswalks, sidewalks and landings.

There are very specific rules on slopes, cross slopes, sizes for these improvements.  Many commercial spaces have not been upgraded, and are still subject to the law.

We are proud to have been chosen for several upgrades in the area including several Chase Bank Locations.  We’re even more mindful of the people that these upgrades will help.

Contact us if you have any questions about ADA and how it affects your development.
